OCTOBER 11, 2011 GRACIOUS SPACE • PATRICIA HUGHES, MA

Pat is a Senior Partner with the Center for Ethical Leadership, a nonprofit organization in Seattle that supports leaders who catalyze change for the common good. She oversees the Center's national Gracious Space initiative, helping people to create Gracious Space in their settings across the county. She is the lead author of Gracious Space: A Practical Guide for Working Better Together, published by the Center in 2004 and the lead author of Courageous Collaboration with Gracious Space: From Small Openings to Profound Transformation, published this past June.

NOVEMBER 12, 2011 • SUPPORT OUR SOLDIERS

An inspirational, energetic and enthusiastic trainer, Ann Macfarlane presents parliamentary procedure in an engaging fashion that turns a dry subject into a lively experience. Her career as a diplomat with the U.S. Department of State, a Russian translator, and the volunteer president of a 10,000-member professional association has given her insight into how board members can work together effectively to achieve a common purpose, and enjoy doing it. Her credentials assure that the training is founded on professional expertise.

Busy looking for a new job or career but feel scattered? In this topic, you will learn valuable time-saving strategies to help you manage and organize your career search to produce results. We’ll discuss the value in following up after sending a resume or having an interview. You will even learn methods to keep track of both paper and electronic correspondence in an organized way.

MARCH 13-14, 2012 • VISIT A LOCAL CHAPTER

Our traditional March meeting is to join forces with the Lake Washington East chapter and travel across Lake Washington. This year, we plan to expand this tradition. Seattle Chapter members and officers will visit different chapters during March. Live north of Seattle? Check out the Everett Chapter. Live south? Check out Renton or Tacoma.  Want to travel east? Say hello to Lake Washington East Carpool and details will be announced in our monthly newsletter.

MAY 8, 2012 • BUSINESS MEETING

This is our annual business meeting to finalize the chapter reports, budgets, election of officers. Guests are always welcomed to attend; however, we will not have a speaker.  But this meeting does let you see how our chapter works!
